Gary L. Nilges, 60, of Northfield, died on Feb. 1, 2016 at Concord Hospital after a brief illness. Gary was born on Dec. 16, 1955 in Manchester the son of Elizabeth (DeBoer) and Karl L. Nilges, Sr. He resided in Northfield for the past 28 years and worked at Hebert Foundry and Machine in Laconia as a machine operator for the last 15 years. Gary enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and being with his dogs. Survivors include five sisters: Betty Fecteau of Franklin, Debbie Gilman of Alton, Karyl Hillsgrove of Barnstead, Mary Chayer of North Conway, and Donna Dandridge of Florida; three brothers: Sid Nilges of Gilmanton Iron Works, Karl L. Nilges, Jr. of Concord, and Erich Nilges of Hooksett, nineteen nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gary was predeceased by his father, Karl Nilges, Sr. in 1992, his mother, Elizabeth Nilges in 2004, and a sister, Kathy Downs in 2007. According to his wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral services. His family will host a Celebration of Life gathering at the American Legion Post #49, 4 Park St., Northfield on Friday, Feb. 5th from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.
