Ernest Rocha

Franklin, NH Ernest "Ernie" D. Rocha, 79, of Franklin, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on March 15, 2016. He was born on Nov. 12, 1936 in Lowell, MA the son of Mariano and Rose (Martin) Rocha. Ernie was raised in Lowell and later resided in Manchester before moving to Franklin in 1990. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 until 1959 as Airman 2nd Class. Ernie retired from NH College where he was employed as a Public Safety Supervisor. He was a member of Franklin VFW Post #1498. Ernie enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, camping, and especially fishing. Family members include his wife, Sharon (Snyder) Rocha of Franklin; 5 children, Ernest Rocha of Merrimack, Sharlene Craig of Pelham, Melissa Simmons of Barrington, Julia Roux and Rebecca Collins-Murtagh both of Manchester; 2 stepchildren, Pamela Hamel of Aurora, NY and Derek Ducharme of Avon, CO.; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Melanson of Wareham, MA; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Richard, William, and John; and his sisters, Beatrice and Lillian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 21, 2016 at 10am at St. Paul Church, 110 School St., Franklin.
