Emily Marie Gulick, 90, passed away Thursday, September 18th, at Merrimack County Nursing Home. Emily was born in Newark, NJ to parents Alexander and Lillian Rose. She attended Union Junior College and Ohio State University. She graduated as an RN from Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange, NJ. She was a member of the US Army Cadet Nurse Corp, and served in Fort Dix, NJ. During her many years as a nurse, Emily worked in several different schools, hospitals, and specialties; retiring as a nursing supervisor at Merrimack County Nursing Home. Emily was an avid Red Sox & Patriots fan, and she enjoyed traveling. After her retirement, she spent her time doing volunteer work. She served on the Apollo Senior Club, Merrimack County Service Link, Franklin VNA, AARP & TRIP advisory boards, and was a volunteer Ombudsman. She was awarded the Vaughn Service Award for her participation and advocacy efforts of seniors in the community. Emily is pre-deceased by her husband, Stephen, on March 20, 1971. She is survived by her children, Stephen & daughter-in-law, Bonnie, of Northfield, NH, Jeffrey & daughter-in-law, Ginger, of Holden, MA; grandchildren Stephen, Stacey, Adrianne, Courtney; and 5 great-grandchildren. Emily was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Franklin. All are welcome to attend a graveside service on Oct 11th at 10am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin, NH. Following the service, all are invited to join Emily's family at Thompson Hall (next to The Congregational Christian Church) on South Main St. for refreshments and fellowship.
