Elwin Chapman

Tilton, NH?.. Elwin H. ""Chappy"" Chapman, 89, of Tilton, died at his home surrounded by family and friends on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010. Chappy was born March 19, 1921 in Northfield the son of Henry and Mary Chapman. During World War II, he served in the US Army seeing action throughout Central Europe and was a recipient of a Bronze Star. Mr. Chapman was a dairy farmer for years and later worked as a mechanic at Manter Oldsmobile for 24 years prior to retiring. Family members include his wife of 49 years, Arvilla M. Chapman, daughter Cheryl Sodden of Long Island, NY, sons Gary Chapman of Long Island and Bruce Chapman of Glendale, AZ, daughter Linda Harbour of Sun City Center, FL, sons Kent Clark of Franklin, son Scott Chapman of Lochmere, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be no visiting hours and the funeral services are private. Donations in memory of Mr. Chapman may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
