OBITUARY Edwin C. Dwyer, 91, of East Side Drive, died August 5, 2011 at Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord. He was born in Northfield, NH, the son of Carroll H. and Sadie (Barron) Dwyer. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1938, received an Associate degree from the University of New Hampshire, and a Bachelor degree from Granite State College. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Paul's Church, Franklin until he relocated to Concord and became a member of St. John the Evangelist parish. His military career of forty years, active and reserve, began in 1938. In the years that followed, he was mobilized for active duty with his National Guard unit, Battery H, 197th CA (AA) in 1940, served forty-one months overseas during World War II in Australia, Netherlands East Indies, New Guinea, and the Philippine Islands. He rejoined the National Guard in 1947, and retired in 1980 as the New Hampshire State Command Sergeant Major. His wife, Simone (Roy) Dwyer, predeceased him in 2000; his father in 1970; his mother in 1978; and his sister, Noramaye Poulin, in 1970. Survivors include his daughter, Karen and her husband Thomas Edwards; two granddaughters, Jennifer Edwards-Saucier and her husband, Brian Saucier, and Kristen C. Edwards and her husband, Richard Kelly; a great-granddaughter Devyn Edwards-Saucier; three sisters, June F. Clogston, Gladys E. Raffaelly, Mary Guest; a brother, Carroll H. Dwyer; and nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 South Main St., Concord. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Edwin C. Dwyer to the Bishop Brady High School Tuition Assistance Fund, 25 Columbus Ave., Concord, NH 03301.
