FRANKLIN, NH – Edmond “Ed” Merrill 93, a lifetime resident of Franklin, NH died peacefully at his home on November 5, 2025.
Ed was born on March 20, 1932. He was a graduate of UNH’s agricultural school.
He worked in construction by trade, spending time at both Bonnette Page and Stone and Bean Construction. At Merrill Farm he raised beef cattle, pigs, sheep and chickens and made maple syrup. He was the former president of N.H. Maple producers and N.H. pork producers’ associations. He had a black smith shop, enjoyed metal working and was an excellent welder. He was a gifted man who could build almost anything from wood or metal. If he needed something but couldn’t get it, he would fabricate it in his shop.
Ed served on the Franklin Cemetery Board and was a former alderman. Ed looked forward to the standing 10:00 am coffee with his good friend and neighbor, Eero Jarvi, where they shared stories of past and present.
Ed is predeceased by his wife; Fukiko Merrill, his parents, James L. and Eva D. (Labonte) Merrill, brother, Raymond and Sister, June Ladd.
He is survived by a niece Candice Jarosz of Newmarket, NH and her children, Michelle Jarosz of NY and Ryan Jarosz of NH.

A graveside service will be held on Friday November 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Franklin Cemetery, 31 Thompson St. Franklin, NH.
The Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
