Franklin, NHDorothee M. LaPlante, 91, of Franklin, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen on Jan. 17, 2011.Dorothee was a beloved mother, sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was born in Shawinigan Falls, PQ, Canada on Jan 4, 1920, the daughter of Donat and Eva (Gaudette) Bergeron. Dot moved to Franklin as a young child and resided here most of her life. She was a graduate of St. Mary School. Dot was known as Franklin?s Bread Lady, having made thousands of loaves of fresh bread for her Church, the soup kitchen and her many friends. For several years, she and her late sister, Rita Brough, operated Brough's Catering. Dot was a volunteer at the Merrimack County Nursing Home and was a member of the VFW Post #1698 Ladies Auxillary. Dot was lady of great faith and was a parishioner of St. Paul Church. She was the widow of Reginald A. LaPlante who died in 1998.Family members include 2 sons: Lawrence and wife Becky LaPlante and James LaPlante, all of Franklin, and her daughter Ann Marie Lalley and husband Richard of South Thomaston, ME. ; 7 grandchildren: Sean Lalley, Jeffrey Lalley, Marc Lalley, Matthew Lalley, Mark LaPlante, Jessica LaPlante, and the late Katie LaPlante; 9 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Dora Bergeron and Theresa Atherton, both of Franklin, and Anita Thibeault of Rochester; 2 brothers: Joseph Bergeron of Warwick, RI and Maurice Bergeron of Omaha, NE, and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by sisters Rita Brough, Leda Schwan, Claire Charland, Mae Harbour and brothers Larry and Normand Bergeron.Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at 11:30 am.
