FRANKLIN -- Dorothee M. LaPlante, 91, died Jan. 17, 2011, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen She was born in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, Canada, Jan 4, 1920, to Donat and Eva (Gaudette) Bergeron. She moved to Franklin as a young child and resided there most of her life. She was a graduate of St. Mary School. She was known as Franklin's Bread Lady, having made thousands of loaves of fresh bread for her church, the soup kitchen and her many friends. For several years, she and her late sister, Rita Brough, operated Brough's Catering. She was a volunteer at Merrimack County Nursing Home and was a member of the VFW Post No. 1698 Ladies Auxillary. She was lady of great faith and was a parishioner of St. Paul Church. She was the widow of Reginald A. LaPlante, who died in 1998. IN HER LIFE: Family members include two sons, Lawrence and wife Becky LaPlante and James LaPlante, all of Franklin; and daughter Ann Marie Lalley and husband Richard of South Thomaston, Maine; seven grandchildren: Sean Lalley, Jeffrey Lalley, Marc Lalley, Matthew Lalley, Mark LaPlante, Jessica LaPlante, and the late Katie LaPlante; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters: Dora Bergeron and Theresa Atherton, both of Franklin, and Anita Thibeault of Rochester; two brothers, Joseph Bergeron of Warwick, R.I., and Maurice Bergeron of Omaha, Neb.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Rita Brough, Leda Schwan, Claire Charland, Mae Harbour and brothers Larry and Normand Bergeron. SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Church in Franklin. Spring burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
