It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald W. Stevens, on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 84. Donnie was born on Friday, December 6, 1940, in Haverhill, NH. He was a resident of Northfield, NH, before moving to the New Hampshire Veterans Home. Donnie was a valued member of the community and will be missed by all who knew him.
Donnie dedicated his career to public service, working as a Supervisor of Bridge Crews for the State of NH. Upon his retirement, he drove the sports bus for New Hampton School. He was able to take in sporting events he so enjoyed and where his commitment was honored with a yearbook dedication.
A proud veteran, Donald served in the United States Air Force and 20 years in the Army National Guard, until retiring in 2000. He was a lifelong member of the Franklin Elks and the American Legion Post #49 in Northfield. His dedication to these organizations reflected his spirit and love of country.
Donnie was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. He also served his community in roles as a coach, selectman, and budget committee member.
He is survived by his siblings: Richard J. Stevens, Emily J. Castle, Bette L. Prescott and Thomas C. Stevens, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Stevens, his parents, Charles E. Stevens and Avis J. (Batchelder) Stevens, and sister Nancy Stevens.
Donald will be buried privately at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
