Claudette T. Cheney

February 15, 1937 — July 15, 2025

Claudette Cheney, 88, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 15, 1937 in Franklin, Claudette was a lifelong resident of the town she loved and called home.
Claudette was a warm, thoughtful, and creative soul who had a deep passion for knitting. Her hands were rarely at rest – she lovingly crafted hats, mittens and blankets for family, friends, and anyone in need. Her knitted gifts were treasured tokens of comfort and care, and many will remember her most by the warmth she quite literally wrapped them in.
She deeply valued her time spent with her family, especially her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her joy. Claudette also enjoyed the company of all the friends she had acquired through the years, always cherishing time spent in good conversation and community.
Claudette is survived by her beloved sister, Denise Day; her nephew John Day and his wife, Wanda Day; her niece Roxanne Stanley and her husband, Edward Stanley; her nephew Rodney Cheney and his wife, Diane Cheney; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, Annette (Morrissette) Cheney and Avit Cheney; and her brothers, Paul Cheney and Norman Cheney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Gabriel Parish of St. Paul Church in Franklin. Burial will follow the Mass in Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin.
Claudette’s kindness, quiet strength, and comforting presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
