Charles Graham

Charles J. Graham, 88, of Northfield, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on Feb. 2, 2017. He was born and raised in Boston (Roxbury) on Aug. 7, 1928 the son of Arthur and Katherine (Stemler) Graham. He was one of nine children and is survived by three sisters, Dorothy McGarity, Pauly Higgins, and Barbara Woods, all of Massachusetts. Charles graduated from the High School of Commerce, Boston and Bentley's College with a degree in accounting. Later he earned a master's from Rutgers University, NJ. Charles served in the US Army attaining the rank of Corporal. Charles married Jeannette Bishop. They resided in West Quincy and Wollaston, MA for several years and had four children. Charles was employed for 39 years by the Bank of Boston. While in Quincy, he served as the 50th Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Charles married Kathleen Held and lived in Weymouth, MA. After retiring, he moved to Northfield. He was a member of Whitman Davidson American Legion Post 49 and attended Franklin VFW Post 1698 with his wife's activities of the Ladies Auxiliary. He enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casinos, and socializing. Family members include his wife, Kathleen (Held) Graham of Northfield, 4 children: Charles R. Graham and Janet Braun, both of Wollaston, MA, Maryann Carroll of MA, and Paul Graham of Taunton, MA, 6 grandchildren, 3 sisters, many nieces , nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Services will be private. Donations in memory of Mr. Graham may be made to a local animal shelter. Paquette-Neun Funeral Home in Northfield is assisting his family.
