Franklin, NH?.. Mr. Charles E. Burke, 75, of Franklin, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on April 24, 2010. He was born in Franklin on June 18, 1934 the son of Charles and Juliet (Routhier) Burke. A lifelong resident of Franklin, Mr. Burke graduated from Franklin High School, Class of 1953. He served in the US Air Force as an Airman First Class from 1953 to 1957 and continued in the Air Force Reserve until 1961. Mr. Burke worked at Brezner Tannery in Penacook for over 30 years and later for the State of NH at the National Guard hangar in Concord and lastly as custodian at the Franklin armory until retirement. He was a communicant of St. Paul Church. Family members include his wife of 49 years, Roberta (Price) Burke of Franklin, 3 children: Timothy W. Burke of Alexandria, Lisa Burke of Singapore, and Kelley Lockridge of Nashua, 2 grandchildren, Celia and Kate, a brother, John Burke of Manchester, 2 sisters, Margaret Knight of Franklin and Mary Whitcher of Meredith, and nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 28th at 11:00 am in St. Paul Church, School St., Franklin. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
