Mr. Erford "Bud" Colcord, 86, of Franklin, died at his home on May 28, 2016. Bud was born in Franklin on July 6, 1929 the son of Raymond and Helen (Scott) Colcord. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1948. He and his wife, Phyllis, have wintered in Hudson, FL for several years. Bud was employed for 30 years by the Boston & Maine Railroad as a track foreman. During the Korean War, he served in the US Navy. Bud was a life member and Past Commander of VFW Post #1698, and a life member of Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post #49. He was a member of the Meridian Masonic Lodge #60 and was a Shriner. Bud enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, watching sports and working around the yard. Family members include his wife of 64 years, Phyllis (Fogg) Colcord of Franklin, 3 children: Michael Colcord of Franklin, Cindy Bird of Franklin, and Brenda Colcord of Northwood, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a sister, Ellen Jameson of Franklin, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, Kenneth Colcord who died in 2014 and Leslie Colcord who died in 1966. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11 am in Franklin Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bud may be made to a charity of one's choice.
