Barbara Sargent Morrill, 86, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2022. She was born on July 16, 1936, the daughter of Forrest and Eva M. (Clement) Sargent and was raised in Franklin. She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Hollis A. Morrill Sr.; her son Hollis A. Morrill Jr.; daughter Wendy L. Griffith and her husband Robert; son Brian S. Morrill and his wife Beth; daughter Terri-Ann Lemire and her husband John; brothers Douglas Sargent and his wife Debbie; brother Leo Sargent, sister-in-law Louise Sargent, and sister-in-law Geraldine Sargent, all of Franklin. Grandchildren include Jason Griffith, Jamie Wolfe, Jaclyn Brouillard, Jacob Morrill, Derek Lemire, Britney Sebastien, Joshua Morrill, and Josiah Griffith. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Clayton Sargent, Richard Sargent, Forrest Sargent Jr., and her sisters Thelma Sargent, Rose Sargent, Irene Picard, Eleanor LeBlanc, and Sandra Bleggi. Barbara was employed in various office positions throughout her life, including the State of New Hampshire and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Hampshire where she worked for many years, and retired from. Barbara was a member of Eastern Star and held many offices in the organization, including Worthy Matron. Once they retired from working, Barbara and Hollis would travel to Eastern Star and Masonic gatherings throughout the state and made lasting friendships with other members. Barbara loved her family beyond measure and cherished the memories of family get-togethers and holidays when all would gather together. Her door was always open to visitors, and she was welcoming when friends, neighbors and relatives stopped by to visit. Barbara loved flowers and birds and spent endless hours enjoying them in her yard after retiring. She loved to read, and always had a book open. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing several baby and full-size quilts both by machine and by hand sewing, and was an avid knitter who provided family members with hats, mittens and socks. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Saturday, November 12 with the funeral service directly following at 11:00 am at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin Street in Franklin. Burial at Franklin Cemetery will be following the funeral service. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a local food pantry.
