Arthur R. Goodearl, age 85, of Franklin, NH, passed away and entered Glory on Sunday, August 6, 2023, after complications from his diagnosis of PSP. He was born in Acton, Massachusetts to Alice Theresa (Mitchell) and Robert Fiske Goodearl. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly Ann Goodearl (his "Tootsie") of 46 years. He is survived by his wife Grace Goodearl (his "Sunshine"); three children Robert F. Goodearl and wife Brenda, Sara Cook and her husband Donald, and Emilee Shedd and husband Dave; grandchildren Kelsey Green and husband Alex, Kevin Goodearl and wife Elise; Donald Cook III, Rachel Stoudt and husband Dom, and Joseph Cook; Dakota Donnelly, Isaiah Wakemen, and Elijah Wakemen; great-grandchildren Taylynn and Greyson Green and arriving in September Ophelia Goodearl; siblings Muriel Albushies, Donald Goodearl, and David Goodearl, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Beverly and Billy.
Arthur served in the U.S. Navy and Army, and retired in the Army Reserves as a Master Sergeant. During this time, Arthur worked full-time at Webster Valve in Franklin, NH for 26 years and faithfully served the Lord by filling the pulpit as he could. He was an interim pastor at the Congregational Church in Tilton, NH, a guest preacher in many local churches, and he served as elder and deacon at Trinity Bible Church in Sutton, NH where he was a longtime member. He also volunteered as a senior companion for a time, where he reconnected with Grace who became his sunshine.
He will be remembered for his faith in Christ, his love for his family, and his humor.
Romans 14:8 "for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's" (NASB2020).
A celebration of life will be held at Hope Community Chapel, 108 Hill Rd., Franklin, on Friday, Aug.11, 2023 at 11:00 am. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, Aug. 14th at 10:30 am at NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
