Northfield, NH Alberta ""Claire"" Cross, 82, of Northfield, NH died at Franklin Regional Hospital on March 31, 2011. She was born in Tilton on March 7, 1929 the daughter of Albert and Ruby (Leavitt) Deragon. Claire resided in Penacook several years ago and resided in Northfield most of her life. She worked at the former Tilton Tannery, and later Allied Leather in Manchester. From 1975 until 1988 she and her husband owned and operated Northfield Beef. She also worked part-time at Park Cemetery in Tilton. She also served on the Tilton-Northfield Old Home Day Horse Pull Committee for many years. Claire's husband, Frank ""Babe"" Cross, who she married in 1947, died in 1985. Family members include her daughters, Janet Wood and her husband Ron of St. Petersburg, FL, Judy Huckins and her husband Richard of Northfield, and Gina Young of Northfield, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Souther of Concord, 2 sister-in-laws, Betty Adams and Carol Cross, both of Northfield, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Brian O. Young, who died in 2003. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 6th from 5-8 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7th at 11 am. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
