Lt. Col. Raymond Beaupre

Sanbornton, NH OBITUARY Lt.Col. Raymond A. Beaupre, US Army Retired, 82, of Sanbornton, died at Lakes Region General Hospital on March 30, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Franklin the son of Armand and Emilienne (Marchand) Beaupre where he was raised. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1949. Ray also graduated from the University of Maryland and received his Master's Degree from Fitchburg State College. He also studied Russian for a year at the Presidio Language School in Monterey, CA. Ray served in the US Army over 23 years retiring as Lt. Colonel. He received many awards and decorations including the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. Following his military service, Ray worked for the US Government for 20 years at Army Intelligence School at Ft. Devens, MA. As a linguist, he later taught German and French at Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton. Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was former Financial Secretary of the Fr. AJ Timon Council. He was a communicant of St. Mary of The Assumption Church in Tilton was a member of the St. Paul Church Choir. Ray was also a member of The American Legion and Franklin VFW Post 1698. He was a longtime Sanbornton resident where he was a member of the Sanbornton Historical Society and enjoyed gardening, chopping wood, and genealogy. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Sheehan) Beaupre who died in 2010, a sister, Claire Pelletier, and two brothers, Ronald Beaupre and Andre Beaupre. Family members include 2 daughters: Sally Gallagher, Melissa Anderson and her husband Gary J. Anderson, and a son, Curtis Beaupre, all of Sanbornton, 6 grandchildren: Ian Gallagher, Lea Emery, Lenny Emery, Gary R. Anderson, Ethan Anderson, and Parker Beaupre, a great grandchild, Avery Beaupre, 2 sisters: Pauline Currier of Concord and Louise Boutin of Manchester, and nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6-8:00 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wed. April 9, 2014 at 10 in St. Mary of The Assumption Church in Tilton with interment with Military Honors at NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen at 1:00 pm.
