EPSOM, NH --- Evelyn Myrtle (Owens) Britt, 86, of Franklin passed away peacefully, October 15th, 2024, with her family by her side.

Evelyn Myrtle (Owens) Britt also known as Nana Banana, Nana B, and Mrs., B., was born August 7th, 1938 in South Beloit, Illinois to Erwin James Owens and Mary Irene (Pratt) Owens. She was the sister of Juliana Marie (Owens) Stripp. Her favorite memories growing up included running in the backfield of her house in Beloit, Wisconsin with her sister and also enjoyed sitting with her dad on the front porch enjoying the view from their home.

After finishing Rockford High School in Rockford, Illinois, her and her family moved to Florida, where she started working at a finance company. That is where she met her soon to be husband Robert. They met on October 23rd, 1964 when Bob called the finance company Evelyn was working for and after the conversation was over, intrigued by what Bob called a beautiful voice, Bob mentioned that he was single and Evelyn followed with asking where single people go in the area. The following Tuesday, Evelyn went to Bob’ s work, as they both worked for finance companies, and Bob was helping Evelyn getting her car relocated to the Florida area. As Evelyn was leaving, Bob asked her out in front of two other girls in the office, which Evelyn never let Bob forget that. Later that night, they went out together for a night of dancing and drinks.

On December 23rd, 1964 Bob proposed to Evelyn and they married a few months later on May 1st, 1965. In September 1965 their family began with the birth of their daughter Charmaine. Their family grew with the birth of their daughter Robin in February 1967, their son Robert in February 1969 and their youngest, April in April 1971. Their family would lead to 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. To those that knew them, they loved to brag about their family.

Evelyn and Bob were married for 58 great years before Bob passed away in September 2023. Evelyn enjoyed watching hallmark movies and listening to her music and even enjoyed newer hits like Old Town Road, which she loved dancing to and even became a staple at family weddings. She enjoyed watching football, baseball and even the occasional basketball game. Her favorite teams included the Boston Red Sox, Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
