Frank Mazur

January 12, 1935 ~ February 23, 2017 (age 82)

Frank P. Mazur Jr. passed away on February 23rd after enduring a lengthy battle with Alzheimers Disease. Frank was born on January 12, 1935 in Franklin NH, the son of Katherine and Frank Mazur. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1952 and also a graduate of NH Technical Institute. He then joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Salina Kansas, where he met his beloved wife, Mary. It was love at first sight. They met on a dance floor and were known as very beautiful dancers. Friends and family would clear the dance floor to watch them. Frank was very proud of his Polish heritage and loved being with family, especially to celebrate a special Polish festive meal on Christmas Eve. Frank and Mary, along with their children and grandchildren, enjoyed preparing the food. Much joy and love have always filled the house. He was an avid sportsman and was an “armchair coach” as he watched all the Boston teams on TV. He coached youth basketball when he lived in Boscawen and was a member of Lochmere and Mojalaki Country Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Franklin, NH. Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Having worked in Electronics for many years, he later worked in the lumber industry. He was pre-deceased by his son, Frank Mazur III and his brother Stephen Mazur and sister-in-law, Jeanne Mazur. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his daughter Stephanie Varrin and her husband Rene’ of Brentwood, N.H., daughter-in-law Maureen Mazur of Gray, Maine. His grandchildren Greg Davis, Katherine Davis, and Denver Mazur all of Portland Maine, as well as Jeremy Mazur of Gray, Maine. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

He was very loved and will be dearly missed by many people. During his illness, he was at the Veterans Home, where he was cared for by an outstanding, loving and devoted staff. His family is very grateful to each and every one of them for the wonderful care, not only of Frank, but also their loving care of his family.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 from 2-4:00 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A Mass celebrating Frank’s life will be held Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at 10 am in St. Paul Church, 110 School St., Franklin followed by interment at NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
